Atlas of Neologism

The project explores the last 60 years of new­ly coined words that have been added to the Eng­lish lan­guage. From the word Junk Food (1960) to the word Ten­der-Age Shel­ter (2018), we see how the world has evolved tech­no­log­i­cal­ly and cul­tur­al­ly through the years. In the first chap­ter, it goes into depth regard­ing each word, specif­i­cal­ly their def­i­n­i­tion, their ori­gin etc. In the sec­ond chap­ter, a mod­ern com­par­i­son of these words is made by using dig­i­tal plat­forms, like Google and Insta­gram. By mak­ing this com­par­i­son, we can notice the dif­fer­ence between the words’ past and present usage.
