The exponential development of AI, especially in virtual writing, opens new possibilities for typographic design, particularly in variable fonts. AURA is typeface that adapts to textual contexts through AI’s lexical and emotional interpretation. This project explores how typography influences message reception and how artificial systems mimic human emotion via NLP. The projects is consists into two editorial outcomes — one technical specimen with archival robots and machine images and a re-edition of Čapek’s R.U.R. —showcase this interaction. Rooted in Turing’s Can machines think?”, the question evolves into: Can machines feel?” through a variable, dynamic typeface designed to improve textual usability while also exploring the mechanisms behind modern communication and design tools.
